April Full Moon in Scorpio - Reclaim Your Wholeness
The FULL MOON is around the corner (Tuesday ET & Wed. HT), and it’s a potent one! This Scorpio moon asks us to sit with our shadows and be willing to face our unconscious patterns, behaviors, desires or fears that are keeping us in cycles of victimhood, selfishness and manipulation.
This moon is also an invitation to remember that shadows don’t only hold the parts of us that we don’t necessarily want to see, they also withhold unrevealed gifts, talents, needs, heart-yearnings and passions yet to have breathed life. And still, many times those are hidden beneath scars or inside the heart-walls that one may have in place.
I believe that we ALL have our own version or story where we place blame on another for something in our lives (or have at some point). It’s part of the human psyche, part of the collective programming.
I have yet to meet someone who didn’t have a personal agenda - even if that agenda is love - or fear that causes us to consciously or unconsciously manipulate a given situation to serve our desire (selfishness). It’s how the unconscious mind tends to operate. Which means, probably all of us have fallen pray to someone else’s manipulation at one point or another and could have left unhealed wounds in our psyche / energy field. This is a collective wound, so bringing awareness to it within ourselves helps to bring more healing energy to the collective.
And…if you find yourself feeling repulsed or defensive by that very statement, I gently invite you to look into that resistance…there’s a shadow there. It wouldn’t have caused a reaction otherwise.
These wounds, fears, hidden parts have caused separation from ourselves (inner) and a separation from the people and world around us (outer), which is the root to the unsettled feeling of loneliness, harsh relations, and lack of self-assurance.
When we bring those shadows into the light to be seen, heard, felt, accepted…
Yes, accepted - what’s there is there, there is no going ‘back’ but we can change how we see it now, release our emotional attachment to it and choose how we move forward from here…
we gift ourselves the opportunity to see truth, learn how these experiences offer us new information about life, affirm how we choose to navigate our lives moving forward and find gratitude for it all as we reclaim all the fractured pieces back to center, back to wholeness.
The more we release the emotional and energetic hold of the past, we offer our Self space to ask the right questions.
What are my values, now?
What do I stand for, now?
What do I allow and attract into my life?
What do I not allow in my life, now and moving forward?
What brings me joy?
What helps me feel safe?
What beliefs do I hold that serve me and which ones do not?
Who do I surround myself with that meets these standards and who does not?
What boundaries do I need to put in place to help me feel safe and okay, even if that means certain people leaving my life?
What places, people, things and/or activities support me in feeling accepted and encourage me to become the best version of me?
Coming into our center, relieving our self of the pain, fear or separation, and strengthening our Core Foundations of who we are, what we stand for and what we will no longer be part of, helps us to feel connected to our True Self.
When we are connected to our True Self our heart opens and allows us to begin connecting with and being of service to others without any hidden or manipulative agenda. We connect to connect, we help because it’s helpful.
This full moon we are being asked to calm the tidal waves, clear the murky waters and ground into clarity, patience, simplicity and loving connection.
Now hang on…. Please remember, there is no magic pill and healing and resolve, along with self-empowerment, comes in layers.
It may be challenging to face and bring care to our fears and unhealed wounds, but it’s even more overwhelming if we try to face too many things at one time.
Do your best to face only what is prevalent for You in this time in your life. Healing comes in layers, so we bring focus to what is showing itself and asking for attention. Surely there have been events, experiences, emotions, resistances, fears, etc. that have been showing themself to you the last 2 months or so.
If you’re unsure of what is ready to transformed, are unsure of what to do or where to begin, there are a couple suggestions I can offer:
1) Mindfulness and different forms of meditation - sound & yoga nidra are powerful options - offer space for self-awareness and self-reflection. We can even experience resolve to the challenge at hand in this space….especially in the illuminating light/energy of the full moon! 2) Journaling - A conversation with your Self that no one else has to see or be part of if that is what you prefer. You might ask yourself questions like:
“What is a pattern or repetitive unhealthy behavior or relationship that is causing discord, tension, stress or feelings of being unsafe in my life right now?”
”Do I treat people how I want to be treated?
If yes, how do those behaviors / actions support me?
If no, what are those behaviors / actions, and why might I be behaving that way?
If no, how do I feel about this? And where do I feel this feeling in my body? What does it feel like in my body?”
”Is there a recurring fear that is holding me back in my life? What is it? What is it holding me back from?”
”Where in my body do I feel this fear? What does it feel like?”
*The answers to these questions (or the further questions that arise) are the bread crumbs - or big ah ha’s that offer you insight to what might be ready to be resolved, healed, released, evolved.
3) Support from others - Energy / Reiki practitioners, trauma-informed specialists and yoga instructors, and/or any other ‘spiritual’ or energetic offering that supports “Shadow Work” and emotional / energetic resolve can be helpful.
